What is a privacy policy?
The COGNISANCE – Forward with Dementia website is for people living with dementia, their families, carers or supporters, as well as health and social care practitioners.
It was developed as part of a research project funded in Australia by the National Health and Medical Research Council. Updates and website redesign have been possible through funding from the Lovell Foundation and a private donation form Ms Christine Rowell-Miller. The Website is managed and operated by University of Sydney on behalf of the University’s COGNISANCE – Forward with Dementia partners University of New South Wales (Sydney), The University of Wollongong, The University of Melbourne and Royal Melbourne Hospital and the COGNISANCE Consortium Partners.
The University is committed to being transparent with the community about how it manages privacy and we have implemented measures to comply with our obligations under the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (NSW) (the Act) and other privacy laws including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the General Data Protection Regulation (EU). All staff are bound by the Act and by the Sydney University Privacy Policy.
